What is MadChats?
MadChats is a free, real-time chat platform designed exclusively for UW-Madison students. Each course has its own chatroom where students can connect, ask questions, share resources, and collaborate with classmates. Whether you're struggling with a problem set or just want to find study partners, MadChats makes it easy to connect with the people in your classes.

How It Works
Sign up with your @wisc.edu email
Create an account using your UW-Madison email address or sign in with Google.
Find your courses
Search for your classes by course code or name. Can't find one? Request it!
Start chatting
Join the conversation with your classmates. All messages are saved for reference.
Privacy & Safety
Your privacy matters. MadChats only requires your @wisc.edu email for verification. You can choose any display name you want - it doesn't have to be your real name.
We have a reporting system in place for inappropriate content. If you see something that violates community standards, please report it.
